Who we are

Prep by Sparko (“Prep”, “we”) is an education website at prep.sparko.club for competition and exam preparation: courses, practice, progress reports, tutoring and memberships. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account details: your name and email address, and how you sign in (an email code or Google).

Learner profiles you create or that are linked to you: first name, grade, and optionally a birth year or date and a username.

Learning activity: practice rounds, answers, timing, mistakes, progress and the work you upload (for example a photo of homework or an essay).

Messages: conversations in the inbox and the tutor chat, between learners, parents and tutors.

Payments: your membership and its status. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.

Location estimate: an approximate location derived from your IP address (country, region, city, postal code and a rough point), used for time zones, local dates, the theme and the age rules of your region. We do not store your IP address itself.

Technical data: device and browser type, error reports and basic usage events that help us keep the service working.

Google user data

Data we access. If you choose “Sign in with Google”, Prep requests only the basic sign-in scopes: openid, email and profile. From your Google account we receive your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID. We do not request or access your Gmail, contacts, Drive files, calendar or any other Google data, and we do not use any Google Workspace APIs.

How we use it. Only to create and identify your Prep account, sign you in, and show your name and picture in the app. We do not use Google user data for advertising, for profiling, or for any purpose unrelated to signing you in.

Sharing. We do not sell Google user data or transfer it to data brokers, advertisers or anyone else. It is stored by the infrastructure providers that host Prep (our hosting and database providers) solely to run the service, and is disclosed only if the law requires it. It is never sent to the AI services used for tutoring.

Protection. Google user data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), stored in our access-controlled database, and only the people who operate Prep can access it; administrative access is logged.

Retention and deletion. We keep your name, email, picture and Google account ID for as long as your Prep account exists. When you delete your account, or ask us to at support@sparko.club, we delete this data within 30 days. You can also remove Prep’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions; you can then still sign in with an email code.

AI and machine learning. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train any AI or machine-learning model.

Prep’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How we use information

To run the service: sign-in, practice, progress tracking, reports, reminders and messages.

To teach: choosing questions at the right level, showing weak spots and preparing reports for learners and their parents.

Tutoring: some tutor answers may be generated by AI.

To keep people safe: messages that suggest a learner may be at risk are reviewed by a person on our team.

To process memberships and payments, and to answer support requests.

To fix problems and improve Prep, using aggregated or de-identified data where we can.

What we never do

We do not sell personal data. We do not show ads, and we do not use learners’ data to advertise to them or to anyone else.

Who can see a learner’s information

A learner, the parents linked to them, and the tutors their family connected (a tutor sees only the subject they teach). Parents can read their child’s conversations. Removing a parent or tutor takes effect immediately. Our staff see data only when needed to support you, keep people safe, or run the service.

Children

Prep is used by children with their parents’ involvement. A child under 13 uses Prep under a parent’s account or with a parent’s consent, and cannot pay for anything. Parents can review their child’s information and activity, ask us to correct or delete it, and stop further collection by removing the child’s profile or contacting us.

Service providers

We share information only with companies that run parts of Prep for us and only as needed to do so: hosting and storage, our database, email delivery, payments (Stripe), sign-in (Google, if you use it), error monitoring, and the AI services used for tutoring. They may not use the data for their own purposes. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect someone’s safety.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and your browser’s storage to keep you signed in, remember your language, theme and the learner you are practising as, and to keep the app working offline. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Retention and security

We keep your information while your account is active and delete it when you ask us to, except where we must keep records (for example payments) by law. Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to people who need it, and admin access is logged.

Your choices

You can edit or remove learner profiles, remove a parent’s or tutor’s access, turn off the AI tutor for a child, and ask us for a copy of your data or to delete your account and its data entirely by emailing support@sparko.club. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app or by email when the change matters to you.
