What Math Olympiads (MOEMS) covers
MOEMS rewards resourceful thinking over memorized formulas. This map organizes the problem set into five domains — arithmetic and number, fractions and algebra, word problems and logic, counting and patterns, and geometry — each laddering from a single technique toward the full domain.
Unit questions open after sign-in with a Series pass. Each child's first round is free, with its summary.
Arithmetic & Number Foundations
Fast, clever computation and the divisibility structure of the whole numbers.
3 units
- Clever Computation & Mental Math — Regrouping sums, smart multiplication, squares, and powers to compute without a calculator.
- Number Sense: Factors & Multiples — Factors, common factors, multiples, divisors, and the digits that build a number.
- Primes, Remainders & Divisibility — Primes and prime factors, GCF and LCM, remainders, digit sums, and cyclic units digits.

Proportional reasoning and the first steps toward solving with unknowns.
2 units
- Fractions, Ratios & Percents — Comparing and combining parts of a whole through fractions, ratios, and percents.
- Algebra & Equations — Setting up and solving equations, including linear relationships, for an unknown.
Word Problems & Logic
Translating a story into math and reasoning your way to the answer.
2 units
- Word Problems — Averages, rates, equal sharing, counting legs, ages, money, and other classic story setups.
- Logical Reasoning — Working backwards, rate reasoning, and counting handshakes and pairs.
Counting, Probability & Patterns
Systematic counting, the chances it produces, and the sequences that repeat.
2 units

A sample question from Math Olympiads (MOEMS)
A pipe fills a tank in 12 minutes. What fraction of the tank does it fill in one minute?
Answer:
Worked solution
- In 12 minutes it fills 1 whole tank.
- In 1 minute it fills 1/12 of the tank.
Read-only. Every other question opens after sign-in; each child's first round is free.
Questions families ask
- What does Prep cover for Math Olympiads (MOEMS)?
- Math Olympiads (MOEMS). Each Level has its own chapter map, practice rounds, sealed practice exams with every answer and worked solution at the end, and a published gate to the next Level.
- When is the next Math Olympiads (MOEMS) date?
- Nov 9, 2026 – Mar 29, 2027 · MOEMS Contest 1 · Nov 9–30, 2026 (5 contests, Nov–Mar). Always check the organizer's site before registering.
- How much does it cost?
- Each child's first round and its summary are free, with no card needed. After that, a Series pass is $14.99 a month for the whole family (up to 5 people) and covers every Level of the Series, so moving up never meets a new paywall.
- Does Prep guarantee a score?
- No. Prep shows exactly what your child has mastered, what comes next and when they are ready for the next Level. Nobody can promise a contest result.
