Middle Level 包含的内容
The vocabulary section of the ISEE for students applying to grades 7–8: synonyms (pick the word closest in meaning) and sentence completion (pick the word that best fits the sentence's logic). 40 questions in 20 minutes — about 30 seconds each, so knowing the words and the signal-word strategy matters more than deliberation.

Synonyms
Choose the word closest in meaning to the word in capitals.

- Synonyms — Core — Define the stem word in your own words BEFORE reading the choices; then pick the closest match.
- Synonyms — Advanced — If you only half-know a word, think of a phrase you have heard it in ('a zealous fan'), then test each choice in that phrase.
- Synonyms — Word Roots — Split an unknown word into prefix, root and suffix (in-cred-ulous = not-believe-full of) and rebuild the meaning.
Sentence Completion
Choose the word that best completes the sentence.

- Sentence Completion — Context Clues — Cover the choices, find the clue words in the sentence, put your own word in the blank, then match it.
- Sentence Completion — Signal Words — Circle the signal word: although/but/however/despite = contrast; because/since/so = cause; and/also/not only = same direction.
升到 Upper Level 需要什么
- 覆盖本级至少 80% 的知识点，其中至少 50% 达到掌握（通过间隔复习确认，而不是某一天做得好）。
- 在 60 天内通过 2 次不同试卷的完整模拟考试，两次至少间隔 7 天。
- 答题速度稳定：每题用时中位数不超过 30 秒。
- 或者在条件成熟时参加下一级的入门检测：达到 75% 即可直接升级。

- Supreme means highest in importance; needless and trivial say the reverse.
